Despite single day output record , MCL’s November Coal production slips 13%

Bhubaneswar: On 29th of November, Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), the largest producing subsidiary of Coal India, has created a new record by producing 0.56 Million tonne (MT) coal in a single day. This is the highest single day output by the miner.

Despite the record, MCL has reported 13.5% drop in its November production at 10.69 Million tonne (MT), against 12.37 MT in November 2018. The offtake has also dropped by 16.3% to 10 MT.

The cumulative output in the April-November period has also dropped by 12.3% to 74.86 MT from 85.33 MT during the corresponding period last fiscal.

Overall, Coal India has reported 3.9% drop in Coal output in November at 50 MT.  Coal offtake has also dropped by 7.6% to 47.37 MT. The cumulative output in the April-November period has also dropped by 7.8% to 330 MT from 358 MT during the corresponding period last fiscal.
