Mumbai: Stock markets opened weak on the special session on Saturday ahead of the Budget, with both Sensex and Nifty fall by 0.48% each. On BSE, Sensex was down over 150 points while Nifty was near 11,900.
The Sensex is currently (9.30 am) trading at 40,621.47, a drop of 102.02 (-0.25%). Similarly Nifty is trading at 11,923.15, a drop of -38.95 ( -0.33%).
Though the Stock Markets generally remain closed on Saturdays, except special occasions like Diwali. But due to the Union Budget, the Stock markets are open today. The Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman will table the Union Budget at 11 am today in the LokSabha.
