Ready to safeguard India’s sovereignty, interests in all circumstances : IAF Chief
New Delhi: Amid standoff with China and Pakistan, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday exhibited its air power on the occasion of 88th Air Force day. The centre of attraction of The Recently acquired Rafale jets, which took part in the ‘Victory Formation’ along with other fighter jets at the Hindon Air Force base.
Apart from, indigenously made Tejas, Sukhoi, Jaguars, US built Chinook and Apache attack helicopters, heavy lift C-17 Globmasters participated in the grand air show.
India formally inducted five Rafale jets on September 10, which is seen as a major boost to India’s air power capability.
Speaking on the occasion, IAF chief RKS Bhaduria assured the nation that IAF is ready to safeguard its sovereignty and interests in all circumstances.
“I want to assure the nation that the Indian Air Force will evolve and be ever ready to safeguard our nation’s sovereignty and interests in all circumstances” IAF chief said during the celebration of Air Force Day.
“I commend all air warriors for quick response in the recent standoff on the northern frontiers, when we deployed our combat assets at short notice to handle any eventuality & provided proactive support to all requirements of deployment & sustenance for Indian Army” he said.
IAF was established on 8 October 1932 in British India as an auxiliary air force of the Royal Air Force. It’s name was changed to Indian Air Force in 1950.
