New Delhi: India’s health ministry on Friday said that we have to learn to live with the Coronavirus. The preventive guidelines against the virus need to be implemented as behavioural changes.
“When we are talking of relaxations and return of migrant workers, we have to understand that we also have to learn to live with the virus. The preventive guidelines against the virus need to be implemented as behavioural changes: Lav Agrawal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry.
“ If we properly implement the preventive guideline we may not achieve the peak in COVID-19 cases. But, there is always a possibility to witness spike in cases if we do not take the required precautions & follow processes” he said during the daily press conference of the Health Ministry.
India has reported as many as 3390 new cases and 1273 recoveries in the last 24 hours. With this India’s total number of recoveries has risen to 16540 and recovery rate has increased further to 29.34%.
Several Indian states are witnessing sharp rise in COIVD-19 cases after the arrival of migrant workers. The Indian railways have run as many as 166 Shramik Special trains to ferry about 2.5 lakh people stranded in different states. With another few lakh people waiting to return, the government is anticipating sharp rise in cases in the coming weeks.
