As per the trend so far, the BJP led NDA is leading in 349 seats which is even a bigger mandate than of 2014. Congress-led UPA is way behind NDA, and is leading in 99 seats. Though Congress has managed to surpass its 2014 figure of 44, it is still below 50, which means it may not get the status of the main opposition party. The Mahagathbandhan and others are leading in 97 seats.
In the state Assembly elections, the BJD, which is leading in 105 Assembly seats, is likely to retain power in Odisha. In Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress may form the government as the trend so far shows the party is leading 148 seats.
