Bhubaneswar : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday (April 30) filed his nominations for the Hinjili assembly seat. He was accompanied by five-5 chairperson V K Pandian, Berhampur Lok Sabha candidate Bhrigu Baxipatra and minister Bikramkeshari Arukh. The seat will go to polls in the second phase on May 20, while Naveen is contesting from here for the sixth time.
The Chief Minister landed at the helipad at Narsinghpur Chowk near Chhatarpur at 11 am today. From there, he went to the shrine of Maa Taratarini in a car and after offering prayers reached the office of The Sub-Collector of Chhatarpur and filed his nomination papers.
Apart from Hinjili Patnaik is also contesting from Kantabanji in western Odisha. But it is not clear when he will file his nomination from Kantabanji. With Kantabanji going to polls on May 20 and the last date for filing nominations is May 3, he is likely to file his nomination papers for Kantabanji in a day or two.
