Bhubaneswar: For the second day in a row, Odisha has managed to keep its COVID-19 cases below 10 thousand cases as the state reported 8914 new cases and 5 deaths on Sunday.
According to the data releases by the state Information and Public Relations department (I&PR), out of the 8914 new cases 5081 are in quarantine and rest 3833 are local contacts.
With this Odisha’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 471536 including 71835 active cases.
With a view to break the chain of transmission, the government of Odisha on Sunday announced a 14-day statewide lockdown from 5th May to 19th May. However, the government has allowed all the essential activities and vaccination programme to continue during this lockdown.
