Zaki-Ur-Rehman Lakhvi should be hold accountable for his involvement in Mumbai attacks : US state department
Biznextindia : The US State department (Bureau of South and Central Asia) has praised the recent conviction of UN designated terrorist and mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai attack Zaki-Ur-Rehman Lakhvi in Pakistan. However, the department has added that his crimes go far beyond financing terrorism and Pakistan should hold him accountable for his involvement in terrorist attacks, including the Mumbai attacks.
“We are encouraged by the recent conviction of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi. However, his crimes go far beyond financing terrorism. Pakistan should further hold him accountable for his involvement in terrorist attacks, including the Mumbai attacks” the state department has twitted.

On Friday an anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has sentenced Lashkar-e-Taiba operations commander Lakhvi 5 years of imprisonment in terror financing case. However, Indian ministry of external affairs had termed the action by Pakistan as a farcical action prior to the FATF meeting.
Lakhvi, who was on bail since 2015 in the 26/11 Mumbai attack case, was arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department of Punjab province,Pakistan on Saturday.
