Mumbai : The Sensex has breached an historic milestone of 85,000 points, continuing its record-breaking rally, driven primarily by gains in steelmakers and automakers. The Nifty is also approaching the 26,000-mark as both indices hit all-time highs. Among the top performers in the 30-share Sensex were Tata Steel, JSW Steel, and Powergrid, while Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, and Bajaj Finance saw declines.
Notably, the Sensex crossed the 84,000 level just four days ago, after surpassing the 83,000 mark on September 12. Earlier milestones include crossing 82,000 on August 1 and 81,000 on July 18.
