‘Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025’: Odisha Sets New Benchmark with Rs 16.73 Lakh Crore Investment proposals

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has achieved a historic milestone by attracting investments worth Rs 16.73 lakh crore during the two-day Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025. The event, which concluded on a high note, showcased the state’s growing prominence as a preferred investment destination.

Addressing a press conference at the conclusion of the conclave, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hailed the business summit as a resounding success. The event drew an unprecedented gathering of industry leaders, global delegates, investors, and policymakers, underscoring Odisha’s potential for industrial and economic growth.

A total of 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the conclave, marking a significant step toward transformative industrial projects and partnerships in the state. These MoUs, spanning sectors such as chemicals & petrochemicals, textiles, mining and metallurgy, renewable energy, IT/ITeS, tourism, and food processing, are expected to generate over 8.94 lakh job opportunities, fostering inclusive growth and socio-economic development across Odisha.

A total of 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the conclave, marking a significant step toward transformative industrial projects and partnerships in the state. These MoUs, spanning sectors such as chemicals & petrochemicals, textiles, mining and metallurgy, renewable energy, IT/ITeS, tourism, and food processing, are expected to generate over 8.94 lakh job opportunities, fostering inclusive growth and socio-economic development across Odisha.

In addition to the MoUs, the state received 448 investment intention forms with a combined investment value of Rs 3.84 lakh crore, promising employment for 3.92 lakh individuals. Overall, the conclave saw a total of 593 projects with investments worth Rs 16.73 lakh crore and an employment potential of 12.88 lakh jobs across more than 20 sectors.

The event also highlighted Odisha’s global appeal, with delegates from over 16 countries, including partner nations Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia, participating in the conclave. This international engagement further solidified Odisha’s position as a key player in the global investment landscape.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the conclave, reiterated his unwavering support for Odisha’s development. During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized his commitment to transforming Odisha into a prosperous state (Samruddha Odisha) by 2036 and a growth engine for a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047. His presence and assurance, encapsulated in the phrase “Modi Ki Guarantee,” underscored the central government’s dedication to Odisha’s progress.

Chief Minister Majhi credited the collaborative efforts of the double-engine government for bringing Odisha closer to its goal of becoming one of the top five economies in the country. The conclave’s success reflects the state’s robust industrial policy, investor-friendly ecosystem, and vision for sustainable and inclusive growth.

With this landmark achievement, Odisha has set a new benchmark in attracting investments and fostering economic development, paving the way for a brighter future for its citizens.
