Odisha eases Lockdown restrictions for Industrial units, contractors

Bhubaneswar: With a view to resolve the difficulties faced by contractors, construction agencies and industrial units in the movement of their personnel to and from their corporate offices/worksites, the Odisha government on Wednesday relaxed the lockdown restrictions for these sectors.

According to the order issued by Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the Collector/ Municipal Commissioner shall allow operations of the corporate offices located in the district headquarters/ other locations in the district on the application submitted by the corporate/ industrial units which have been permitted to operate during the lockdown period. The Head of the industrial unit/ corporate office shall convey to the Collector/Municipal Commissioner the number of personnel (up to 30% of staff strength) as well as the number of vehicles required. Two-wheeler is allowed only with the rider and no pillion rider. Car is allowed with driver plus one passenger in the back seat.

In case of contractors and construction firms, the Collector/ Municipal Commissioner will allow operations of offices of the contractors/construction agencies at district headquarters/other places and worksites in the district on the recommendation of the Executive Engineers of Works Divisions, during the lockdown period. However, such offices located in the containment zones will not be allowed to operate.
