NMDC hikes Iron Ore prices upto 15%, 2nd hike in December
Biznextindia : Indicating sharp recovery in domestic demand, Public sector miner NMDC on Tuesday hiked its Iron Ore prices upto 15.5 per cent.
While the lump ore ( 65.5%, 6-40mm) prices has been hiked by 15 per cent to Rs. 5200 per tonne, Fine (64%, -10 mm) prices has been hiked by 12 per cent to Rs. 4610 per tonne.
This is the 2nd price hike in the current month. On 2nd December, the company has announced price hike of its Iron Ore upto 12.5 per cent.
On month-on-month basis the prices NMDC has hiked the prices upto 30 per cent. While the Iron ore lump prices was Rs. 4000 a month ago (on November 17), Fines prices was Rs. 3610 per tone.
The PSU miner had reported 12.9 per cent increase in its November Iron Ore production at 3.32 million tonnes (MT) against 2.94 million tonnes in November 2019.
However, on month on month basis, its Iron Ore output has registered a significant growth of 36.6 per cent, against the October output of 2.43 MT. NMDC’s November Iron Ore Sales has also increased by 18 per cent to 3.30 MT from 2.79 MT in November 2019.
