New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki, India’s top carmaker today reported marginal 0.6% drop in its monthly sales at 164,369 units in July. The drop in monthly sales is being attributed to high wholesales in July 2017, in view of the nationwide rollout of GST. The company had sold a total of 165,346 units in July 2017.
The July 2018 sales include 154,150 units in the domestic market and 10,219 units of exports. The passenger car segment witnessed a marginal growth of only 0.3% at 112,131 units largely due to drop in mini (-11%) and Mid-sized (Ciaz) ( -99% drop). While the company had sold total 6377 units of Siaz in July 2017, it has come down drastically to only 48 unit last month.
Overall, the company’s monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales has dropped by 0.6% and Export fall by 10%.
