Biznextindia : Amid violent protests over government’s Agniveer Scheme for recruitment in the Military, Indian corporate sector has shown interest in recruiting Agniveers.
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra on Monday announced that his company will hire Agniveers.
“Saddened by the violence around the #Agneepath program. When the scheme was mooted last year I stated-& I repeat-the discipline & skills Agniveers gain will make them eminently employable. The Mahindra Group welcomes the opportunity to recruit such trained, capable young people” he twitted.

Mahindra’s Announcement comes at time when the scheme has triggered nationwide protest over the last 5 days.
He has said that there is a large potential for Agniveers in the corporate sector.
“Large potential for employment of Agniveers in the Corporate Sector. With leadership, teamwork & physical training, agniveers provide market-ready professional solutions to industry, covering the full spectrum from operations to administration & supply chain management” he said in another twit.
Earlier, the government had announced reservation for Agniveers in Central Paramilitary Forces and Defence PSUs. Several states had also announced reservation for Agniveers in State Police Forces.
