London : Keir Starmer will become Britain’s new prime minister following a sweeping general election victory by his centre-left Labour party, ending 14 years of Conservative rule. At a jubilant rally in central London, the 61-year-old Starmer addressed enthusiastic supporters, declaring, “Change begins here” and pledging a “decade of national renewal,” with a commitment to “country first, party second.” Rishi Sunak has conceded defeat to Labour and is now en route to London to formally step down.

Meanwhile, Tory leader Rishi Sunak departed from Teesside Airport on Friday, headed for London where he plans to tender his resignation to the British monarch.
