India’s COVID-19 Tally crosses 1 crore, Recovery rate improves to 95%

 Bhubaneswar: India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the one crore (10 million) mark on Saturday with a daily spike of 25 thousand positive cases.

As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, India’s total cases rose to 1,00,04,599 by Saturday morning. The total number includes 308751 active cases and 145136 deaths while 9550712 people have been recovered from the viral infection.

The country reported record 25153 new cases and 347 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this India’s mortality rate has declined to 1.4 per cent while the recovery rate has improved further to 95 per cent.

Meanwhile, as many as 1171868 samples were tested yesterday out of which nearly 25 thousand samples were found to be positive. With this, the country has tested total 16,00,90,514  samples till the 18th December with a positivity rate of 6.2 per cent, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

Global cases climb to 75.62 million

The Coronavirus has continued to wreak havoc in the world as total cases has climbed to 75.62 million including more than 1 million deaths as on Saturday morning. The United States of America has remained the worst affected country in the world with 17.45 million cases and over 3 lakh deaths.
