Bridgetown : India ended their 11-year wait for the ICC trophy by defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados on Saturday. Virat Kohli’s crucial fifty helped India set a formidable total of 176/7, and Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional death-over bowling restricted the Proteas to 169/8.

Kohli broke his poor form with a commanding 76 off 59 balls, helping India achieve the highest-ever total in a tournament final. Despite Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive 22-ball fifty giving South Africa a chance, the late heroics of Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh secured India’s second T20 World Cup title.
