New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on thursday announced the dates for Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections.
Chief Election Commission Rajiv Kumar in a press conference said that voting will be conducted in two stages i.e. December 1 and December 5, 2022 and the date of counting is 8th December, 2022.
The notification for the polls will be issued on 5th November. For the first phase, candidates can file nominations from November 14 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 17.
Similarly, the second phase, nominations can be filed from November 18 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 21.
Voting will be done for total 182 seats of the state out of which 13 seats have been reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 27 seats have been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes and rest 142 seats are unreserved.
Chief Election Commission Rajiv Kumar in a press conference said that voting will be done through 51,782 polling stations, out of which 17,506 are located in urban areas and 34,276 are located in rural areas.
