New Delhi: Urging people not to fall prey to rumour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the free vaccination programme being conducted by the Government of India will continue to be free.
“I urge people to not fall prey to any rumour about vaccine. You all must be aware that Govt of India has sent free vaccine to all State Govts. All people above 45 yrs of age can benefit from this. From May 1st, vaccines will be available for every person above 18 years of age” Modi said during his Radio Address ‘Man Ki Baat’ .
He further said that, now the Corporate Sector, companies too will be able to participate in the programme of administering the vaccine to their employees.
The Prime Minister said that after successfully tackling the first wave of COVID-19, the country’s morale was high. But the current wave has shaken the country.
“To tackle this wave of COVID, I have held meetings with experts from many fields like pharma industry, oxygen production etc. The government of India is dedicated to taking forward the efforts of the state governments to tackle the current COVID19 situation” said the Prime Minister.
India has reporter yet another record spike of nearly 3.5 lakh fresh cases and 2767 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, India’s tally has increased to 1.69 crore and death toll has risen to 1.92 lakh.
