~Life-sized Replica Raths Created as Part of Celebrations Across Five Cities in Odisha~

Puri: Reaffirming the company’s long-standing commitment to Odisha and its traditions,Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL), a leading cement manufacturer in India, celebrated the Rath Yatra festival in Puri by honouring Odisha’s skilled Rath Shilpkars through their ‘Saluting the Expert’ initiative. The tribute, named DSP Expert Rath Shilpakar Samman, recognizes the exceptional craftsmanship of distinguished shilpakars, thereby acknowledging them too as true experts in their respective field of Rath making and craftmanship. Notable Dalmia DSP Cement is itself positioned as ‘Dhalai Expert’ providing formidable strength to all Dhalai jobs in a construction. Four esteemed shilpkars, Shri Laxman Mohapatra Maharana, Shri Shyam Sundar Maharana, Shri Surendra Maharana and Shri Rabi Bhoi were felicitated in front of the majestic Ratha they meticulously crafted. As a mark of respect, each of them received a plaque, a shawl, and a cash award of INR 10000.

Initiated in 2022, the ‘Saluting the Expert’ initiative by Dalmia Bharat is dedicated to the Maharana community, whose skillful design and construction of the Rathas preserve Odisha’s unique craft traditions. Their devotion and craftsmanship uphold the globally renowned Jagannath Rath Yatra, ensuring its continued splendour.

In a parallel celebration, Dalmia Bharat organized events in five cities across Odisha—Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Jajpur and Berhampur. Members of the Maharana community were invited to construct life-sized replicas of the chariots, which were installed at central locations for congregations of channel partnersand their families. Children were presented with miniature chariots (Raths) and other token gifts. The event saw the participation of key stakeholders of Dalmia Cement and their families, creating a joyous and inclusive atmosphere.
