BiznextIndia: Kangna Ranawat starrer periodic drama Manikarnika has a huge weekend with a collection of approximately Rs.40 Crores, according to a report by boxofficeindia.com. The movie released a day before the Republic Day has collected Rs. 7.75 Crore in its opening day i.e. Friday, but it witnessed a huge jump in the next day i.e. Saturday (Republic Day) to Rs. 17.75 Crore. As per initial reports, the movie has collected Rs. 15 Crore on Sunday taking its 1st weekend collection to Rs.40 Crore.
Thackeray (Hindi), on the other hand, has not done well. The collections are better in Maharashtra but still can’t be good as exhibitors change to the Marathi version which despite having no growth from day one has done very well as it opened strongly.
Meanwhile, URI : the surgical Strike is still going strong. The movie has a huge 3rd Saturday collections at 7.75 Crore which takes its total collection to Rs.148 Crore.
