NewDelhi : India’s top car maker Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 158,189 units in August 2018, a fall of 3.4% as compared to 163,701 units in August 2017. Sales during the month were adversely affected due to severe floods in Kerala and heavy rains in other parts of the country. The Passenger car sales slip by 1.4% to 114261 units and the sales of utility vehicle segment (S-cross, Vitara, brezza,Ertiga ) dropped by 16.2% to17,971 units. However, the silver lining is that Light Commercial Vehicle sales increased by impressive 147.3% to 1805 units in August 2018 from only 730 units in August 2017.
This includes 147,700 units in domestic market and 10,489 units of exports. The Company had sold a total of 163,701 units in August 2017.
