Mahindra completes acquisition of 3 subsidiaries of UK’s BSA Regal group
Biznextindia : BSA Company UK , which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian automobile major Mahindra & Mahindra controlled Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL) has completed the acquisition of three defunct companies from BSA Regal Group of UK- the Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited, BSA Corporation Limited, B.S.A. Motor Cycles Limited.
BSA Company has acquired has the shares of these companies at 48 GBP in the aggregate.
The acquisition will enable BSA Company Limited to protect and safeguard the brand license of BSA. The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited, BSA Corporation Limited and B.S.A. Motor Cycles Limited were incorporated in UK to protect and safeguard the brand license of BSA. For the year ended 31st March, 2020, the revenue of the above 3 companies was Nil.
Mahindra & Mahindra had acquired BSA in October 2016 to revive the iconic brand. BSA has been one of the most famous British motorcycle brands, dating back to 1910 when BSA produced its first motorcycle. BSA even owned the iconic motorcycle brand Triumph brand at one point and at its peak, was the largest motorcycle producer in the world. However, by the 1970s, BSA stopped making motorcycles.
