FM Sithraman’s Budget Speech begins, Focus on poor, farmers

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun her budget speech in the Lok Sabha. With this, the Union General Budget for the financial year 2024-25 has been presented in the Lok Sabha. This is the first full-fledged budget of Modi’s third term.
The finance minister had presented a working budget in February this year due to general elections. The duration of this interim budget was from April to July. Now after the election, the Finance Minister has presented the full budget in the Lok Sabha. Earlier in the day, the Union Cabinet had approved the budget.

Focus on 9 areas

In her budget speech for a developed India, Nirmala Sitharaman gave priority to nine areas. These are agriculture, employment, inclusive development, manufacturing and service sectors, urban development, energy, infrastructure, innovation, R&D, and new generation reforms.
