NewDelhi : India’s real GDP is projected to grow between 6.5% and 7% in 2024-25, according to the Economic Survey tabled in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 22. This growth estimate aligns with the International Monetary Fund’s prediction of 7%.

“The survey conservatively projects a real GDP growth of 6.5-7%, with risks evenly balanced, recognizing that market expectations are higher,” the survey stated.

The Economic Survey, released a day before Sitharaman presents the Budget for the current financial year, attributes India’s resilient growth forecast for FY25 to prospects of normal rainfall benefiting the agriculture sector and positive outcomes from reforms like the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
