Israel strikes Iran sans oil, nuclear installations
Tel Aviv: Israel’s military announced it conducted “precise strikes” on military targets in Iran early Saturday morning, citing the action as a response to “months of continuous attacks” from Tehran. The airstrikes on Iranian military facilities are now reportedly complete. However, Israel has not attacked Iran’s oil and Nuclear installations.
“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel” said DF Spokesperson RAdm. Daniel Hagari in a video message.
“In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel—right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran. The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th—on seven fronts—including direct attacks from Iranian soil. Like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond. Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized. We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel” the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has written on ‘X’.
Meanwhile, Iran’s government controlled newspaper Teheran Times has also confirmed that multiple powerful explosions were heard around the capital, though officials did not comment on their origin. A few hours later, more explosions were reported in Tehran, which state media attributed to the activation of air defense systems.
“Iran’s National Air Defense Headquarters has announced the successful interception of attacks on military sites in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces in the early hours of Saturday” says a Tehran Times report.
