New Delhi: The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has made heavy military deployment in the  east Ladakh region with an ill-intention to unilaterally change the status-quo of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Keeping this in view, the Indian Army has also made mirror deployment near the LAC to safeguard our borders, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Speaking on LAC standoff issue in the Lok Sabha, he said,  “ China has mobilised a huge number of Army battalions & armaments along LAC & inner areas. There’re many friction points in eastern Ladakh, Gogra, Kongka La, Pangong Lake’s north & south banks. Indian Army has made counter deployments in these areas.”

He said that the violent conduct of Chinese troops is a violation of all past agreements. Our troops have done counter deployments in the area to safeguard our borders. The Indian army has shown counter-aggression where it was needed and will forcefully counter all Chinese actions along the border.

“India and China border issue remains unresolved. Till now, there has been no mutually acceptable solution. China doesn’t recognise the traditional & customary alignment of the boundary. We consider that this alignment is based on well established geographical principals” he said.

He, however, said that India is committed to resolve all boundary issues with China.

On Galwan incidence the minister said, there was a face-off in Galwan on June 15 in which Indian forces inflicted heavy casualties on Chinese army.
