Russian Helicopters signs MoU with IRHL for localization of Ka-226T helicopter in India
New Delhi: The Defense Research & Development Organisation (DRDO)’s HEMRL has signed technology development contract with Russia’s top defense exporter Rosoboronexport for development of Advanced Pyrotechnic Ignition Systems at the DefExpo 2020 in Lucknow.
Pune based HEMRL or High Energy Materials Research Laboratory is the DRDO laboratory working in the development of a spectrum of high energy materials required for missiles, rockets and guns.
“This will enable advancement in the field of energetic materials and pyrotechnic technology leading to the development of advanced ignition systems. This will meet futuristic requirements of high-performance propulsion systems. He added that the propulsion systems are the power behind the rockets and missiles. This technology development will facilitate design and development of state of art solid rocket motors for upcoming products. These products will be based on compact and energy-efficient propulsion systems” said KPS Murthy, Director HEMRL.
Russian Helicopters signs MoU with IRHL
NewDelhi: Russian Helicopters, a leading helicopter designing and manufacturing company of Russia has signed a roadmap on localization of Ka-226T helicopter manufacturing in India with Indo-Russian Helicopters Limited (IRHL).
“The roadmap will be the basis for further development of the Ka-226T localization project in India after contract signing,” General Director of the company Andrei Boginsky said.
It may be noted that, IRHL is a joint venture between Russian Helicopters, Rosoboronexport and India’s HAL. It was founded in May 2017 to implement the Ka-226T production localization project.
