Bhubaneswar: Mukesh Ambani controlled Telecom service provider Reliance Jio added over 2.3 lakh new subscribers in the month of November 2019, as per the recently released mobile subscriber data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
With this Reliance Jio has come very close to take the leadership position in the industry in Odisha as it has now crossed 1.19 crore subscribers mark in the state and over 35.8% subscriber market share.
As per the subscriber data released by TRAI, BSNL was the only other operator in Odisha to have added new subscribers in the month with net addition of 72555 subscribers while both Airtel and Vodafone Idea continued their trend of losing subscribers in thousands in the month. Vodafone Idea lost a massive 4.8 lakhs subscribers followed by Airtel which lost over 36000 subscribers during the same period in the state. The overall mobile subscriber count in the state dropped by 2.16 lakhs to reach 3.32 crores as on 30th November 2019, revealed the TRAI report.
Nationally, Jio added over 56 lakhs, new subscribers, in November, continuing its long spree of adding highest number of subscribers every month, said the TRAI report. The total subscriber base of Jio in the country reached 37 crores in November, making it the largest telecom service provider both in terms of subscriber as well as revenue.
