Union Ministry portfolios: Amit Shah gets Home, Dharmendra retains Petroleum Ministry
NewDelhi : The newly-elected Narendra Modi government on Friday announced the portfolios, allocating the Ministry of Home Affairs to Amit Shah while the Defence Ministry to Rajnath Singh. According to the statement issued by the Rastrapati Bhawan Former Diplomat S.Jaishankar has been given the all important Foreign Ministry. Nirmala Sitharaman was allotted the Finance Ministry.
Dharmendra Pradhan and Nitin Garkari have retained their previous ministries Petrolium & Natuaral Gas and Road Transport and Highways respectively. Pradhan has also additionally allocated the Steel ministry.
While Amethi MP Smriti Irani has been allocated the Ministry for Women and Child Development and Textiles Ministry, Piyush Goyal retained the Railway ministry. Prakash Javadekar has been given the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as well as Environment.
