Mumbai: Spice Money, India’s leading rural fintech and a subsidiary of Digispice Technologies Limited, announced key strategic initiatives at the Black Swan Summit Odisha, an initiative of the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) under the Bharat Netra programme of the Government of Odisha.
At the summit, GFTN, in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), launched a Certification Course in FinTech & InsurTech with an inaugural cohort of 195 students. Demonstrating its commitment to fintech talent development, Spice Money hired 29 graduates from the first batch during the summit’s job fair, strengthening Odisha’s emerging digital finance ecosystem.
Spice Money also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GFTN and the Government of Odisha’s Electronics & IT Department to collaborate under the Bharat Netra project. The partnership aims to advance financial inclusion, digital literacy, and livelihood generation through technology-led interventions.
The collaboration will introduce digital savings and payment solutions, including a UPI-based wallet tailored for women new to digital financial services in Odisha. The company has further proposed the use of programmable Central Bank Digital Currency (pCBDC) to support Mission Shakti by enabling targeted, outcome-based financial disbursements and enhancing transparency in welfare delivery.
Leveraging its rural network of Spice Money Adhikaris, the company plans to digitise the Self-Help Group (SHG) ecosystem to improve financial autonomy, transparency, and secure money management for women.
Dilip Modi, Founder and CEO, Spice Money, said, “Our participation at the Black Swan Summit Odisha underscores our commitment to inclusive digital growth. Through partnerships with GFTN and the Government of Odisha, we aim to empower SHGs, create sustainable livelihoods, and drive assisted fintech innovation. Recruiting graduates from the inaugural FinTech & InsurTech programme reflects our belief that talent development and inclusion must go hand in hand.”
