Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been allocated a total outlay of Rs.9734 crore in the railway budget, which is 39 percent more than the current financial year’s allocation of Rs. 6995.58 crore. While the much delayed Khurda-Balangir railway line has been provided an outlay of Rs.891 crore, the Angul-Sukinda railway line has been provided an outlay of Rs.475 crore.
In 2021-22, the Centre has allocated a total outlay of Rs 6,995.58 crore for Odisha in the 2021-22 Railway Budget, which was 60 per cent more than the previous 2020-21 fiscal’s railway budget outlay of Rs 4,373 crore.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech has announced an allocation 1.40 lakh crore for the Railways.

>> Rs 300 crore for Bansapani-Daitari-Tamaka-Jakhapura railway line
>> Rs 172.5 crore for Sambalpur-Talcher railway line
