Odisha will have a significant role in a developed India : PM Modi after inaugurating ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ Conclave
Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the two-day ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’, the flagship global investment summit hosted by the Odisha government, in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Addressing the people the prime minister said, “Odisha will have a significant role in a developed India. The people of Odisha has committed for a developed Odisha. The central government is helping the state to achive its goals. I have full confidence on the potentials of Odisha and its people. These investments will take the state to a new height”.
The inaugural ceremony at Janata Maidan saw the presence of Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with state ministers and leading industry figures.
The Utkarsh Odisha Conclave aims to position Odisha as a key player in the Purvodaya Vision, branding it as a leading investment destination and industrial hub in India. This mega event highlights the state’s vast potential as a hotspot for investment and business opportunities.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the Make in Odisha Exhibition, showcasing Odisha’s achievements in building a vibrant industrial ecosystem. The exhibition serves as a platform for industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore the state’s offerings as a preferred investment destination.
The two-day conclave features CEOs’ and Leaders’ Roundtables, Sectoral Sessions, B2B Meetings, and Policy Discussions, facilitating meaningful engagement with global and domestic investors. Over 7,500 investors from India and abroad are set to attend.
The conclave focuses on five key sectors: IT, renewable energy, textiles, chemicals, and food processing. Additionally, twelve countries, including Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, Poland, and Cuba, have been invited as ‘Countries of Focus’ to participate in the event.
The Odisha government aims to attract investments worth ₹5 lakh crore, positioning the state as a global industrial hub. The event is expected to witness the signing of 100 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain emphasized the government’s commitment to project implementation over mere MoU signings. The conclave is expected to strengthen Odisha’s journey towards achieving the goals of Samrudh Odisha by 2036 and Viksit Bharat by 2047.
